I am so lucky to have friends who inspire me. This work was inspired by the beautiful paper crochet, which is so beautifully designed by my FB friend Quilling Ada. I first showed her this work and received praise.
So, when I saw these beautiful works, of course I asked myself can I do something like that and still be "original"? The first thing that came to my mind was our original, traditional lace. For all my loyal visitors outside the Croatia here's a little explanation:
Pag lace is unique handmade from precious womans from the town of Pag on the island of Pag . It is believed that the root of the Pag lace in Mycenae, and in the town of Pag began to make at the end of the 15th century for church vestments. Came from the Benedictine monastery of St. Margaret. The Ministry of Culture has declared cultural heritage collection that the nuns of the monastery kept and collected more than 150 years.
Pag lace is an original Croatian product, and over the years has shown that the use value of Pag lace morphed into a cultural heritage, intangible heritage and a special souvenir of the island of Pag, Croatia, and is one of the most Croatian souvenirs suitable as gifts and personal memories.
This "white gold" as it is called, is increasingly becoming the subject of which is distinguished by its artistic value and appearance, and it is not uncommon to see it framed on the wall like a picture.
So, after I made the decision, I went in search of pictures. Internet is a wonderful thing to find a picture so I chose the one that will become quilling lace. The following illustration is the original motive of Pag lace.
Slijedi moj pokušaj prenošenja motiva.
The following is my attempt to transfer a motives.
A ovo je samo prikaz najsitnijih dijelova.
And this is display of the smallest parts.
Dakle, što mislite?
So, what do you think?
